(The Spectrum) The Water Tap: Good water news? Or a good water ruse?

In the last few weeks, several things have happened in Utah that might be good water news, maybe. 

On Tuesday of this week, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox visited southern Utah to tour a water optimization project at Southern Utah University’s farm, among other things.

Last Wednesday, Sept. 1, the Washington County Water Conservancy District launched its new rock-themed water conservation campaign, called “Clock On!” 

The day before, the Bureau of Reclamation announced $5.5 million of funding for 82 small-scale water improvement projects in 16 western states, including 11 in Utah, one of which funds a local project set to take place in Ivins.

And one day prior to that, the 30th of August, the new legislative entity named the Colorado River Authority of Utah met with water experts from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to be briefed on the latest science about drought and how it’s affecting Lake Powell and the Colorado River.
