Update on Lake Powell Pipeline Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Lake Powell Pipeline Project. The USBR evaluates 3 alternatives and the pipeline comes with a price tag of $1.85-$2 billion. Keep Kanab Unspoiled supports the “no action” alternative.

We encourage everyone to take a look at the document and submit comments [link]. Public comments are due on September 6th. You may wish to wait until after the two virtual Reclamation online public meetings on the evenings of July 8 and 9, 2020, at 6 p.m. MDT.

The draft EIS is a hefty document of 300+ pages, so we need some time to review it. We would love to hear what your thoughts and insights are. Email us at info@KeepKanabUnspoiled.org.

Best,
Keep Kanab Unspoiled Team
